Keara Burr MA has been practising book conservation since receiving her Postgraduate Diploma and Masters from West Dean College in 2018, and has worked with a variety of prestigious institutions such as the Wellcome Trust, The National Archives and The Victoria & Albert Museum. She continues to work part time as a Senior Book Conservator at the Victoria & Albert Museum, conserving books for their busy loans and exhibitions schedule, in addition to couriering V&A objects. In 2023, she couriered one of the V&A’s Da Vinci sketchbooks to Paris, France.
Keara is an active member of ICON, the governing body of conservation within the UK and frequently attends workshops and conferences within Europe to further hone her skills and expand her knowledge. She has contributed to conservation sharing platforms such as The Book & Paper Gathering.
She is an advocate for the ethical backbone of conservation, to retain the original features and material whilst stabilising function and restoring aesthetics.
